2020 RAB Hobbies Geelong Challenge Cup
And thats a wrap for the 2020 RAB Hobbies Geelong Challenge Cup!
There was a solid turnout as many drivers were itching to drive as Covid cancelled many events throughout the year and this was the last major event for the year.
Even though we had little time to prepare and we to be Covid safe the committee put on a cut down version of the event. Due to Covid restrictions the club could only have 5 drivers on the stand at any one time which meant we had to limit entries so the day wouldn't blow out but even still it was a 2 hour wait between each round.
The club decided to change the format to a 4 round Reedy style format where each round the grid was randomly selected for each class, it was an interesting but exciting format which Australia is not used to running.
Unfortunately like the 2019 event we were unable to complete the event due to being rained out so we calculated the final results which whatever was run.
We like to thank everyone that turned up and supported the event from all our peer clubs and all the following sponsors that really help in making the event great:
RAB Hobbies - Naming sponsor
Grovedale Hire
And finally the Geelong Radio Control Car committee who are a champion team and put in many hours to ensure the event was the best it could possibly be:
Nic Micaelides
Steve Purser
Brett Shell
Francisco Canonigo
